perception productions, a new york based label that ran from the late 60s through until 1974, was a strangely eclectic affair. its roster stretched from a radical afro-american poet through to the pop band king harvest whose hit ‘dancing in the moonlight’ became a massive hit for the uk band toploader a couple of decades later. the inbetween points covered jazz, funk, vocal harmony soul and proto-disco.

for the labels 14th release, memento welcomes the collaboration of italys finest house enthusiasts pastaboys, who bring their love of dance musics black roots and afro-american soul sounds, combined with an exquisite european-influenced sense of rhythm and melodies.>tresca< evolves around a sweet italo-disco bass that sends the listener back to the 70s: a soundtrack to a sleazy underground movie, with nightmare-ish synth chords in the background.strong claps and percussion build the tension up to a donna summer-esque break, leading the track to an anthemic climax ready to shake the asses of all the party people out there.
